National Pharmacy Week is almost upon us!  This week presents a great opportunity to teach your colleagues, patients, hospital staff, and community all about health-system pharmacy as well as promote patient safety.  LSHP offers ribbons for your staff to commemorate the week and identify your pharmacy staff.  Other ideas to celebrate the week are:

· Do something each day for your pharmacy staff, including refreshments, a small staff celebration or luncheon, or flowers.

· Post signs of information about National Pharmacy Week at the pickup windows and main entries to the pharmacy.

· Present awards to your staff for accomplishments such as attendance, critical intervention, or cost containment ideas.

· Conduct a tour or open house of your pharmacy.

· Construct information posters about hospital pharmacy and highlight some of the services offered by hospital pharmacists.

· Host a “brown bag day” for senior citizens.

· Display a “Question of the Day” about medication in a prominent place in the hospital.
